The Long Barn can seat 200 guests for the wedding breakfast and an extra 50 guests for the evening, totalling 250.

What are the dimensions of both the upper and lower barn areas?

The upper area is approximately 252 metres squared and the lower area/bar area and dance floor is approximately 189 metres squared, totalling approximately 440 metres squared.

What time restrictions are there for The Long Barn?

The closing down time for both the bar and music is 11.30 pm with a view to fully vacating the premises by midnight.

Is there a corkage fee and can we have a pay bar?

We charge a single fee of £150 for you to supply your own wine and Champagne. Many of our trusted suppliers also offer a paid bar service: you can see the list here.

Is there parking on site?

There is plenty of parking available on the premises and two parking attendants directing traffic and assisting your guests are included in the venue hire.

Do you allow candles?

We do allow candles but they must be in appropriate holders and due to safety reasons none are allowed to be placed on the floor, beams or in the windows.

Can we bring our own food?

No food other than that provided by your chosen caterer is allowed on the day, with the exception of a wedding cake which must be made by a trusted supplier.

The Long Barn offers a full and comprehensive list of preferred caterers and suppliers, which is available here. There will, however, be an additional charge should non-preferred caterers and suppliers be chosen. Please contact the manager for more details and information.

Can we have coaches?

The Long Barn can only be accessed by 32 seater coaches or smaller minibuses. Under no circumstances can double decker buses make it to the venue due to large over-hanging branches

Is there a dance floor?

A 21x18 foot parquet dance floor is included in the venue hire.

Is there accommodation available near by?

The Long Barn has on-site accommodation - Shotters Cottage (sleeps 10+2) and Shotters Mews (sleeps 4+2). You can also find a list of local hotels and B&Bs at the bottom of our Accommodation page here.

Is there a Bridal room?

The venue offers a small and discrete Bridal/Changing Room for the Bride and Groom's own personal use, with its own shower/washroom, as part of the venue hire but this does not form part of the overnight accommodation.

When can I start setting up for the event?

The Long Barn is available for setting up on the day prior to your wedding, from 9.00am until 5.00pm. The day after your event, The Long Barn will be open for clearing from 9.00am until midday.

Is there heating?

Very effective 'Warm Air' heating is supplied, if required, as part of the venue hire.
